What is the Liverpool 'City Visitor Charge' and why do I need to pay it?

As of 1st June 2025, Liverpool has implemented a 'City Vistor Charge'. All stays at Cove Paradise Street will be charged £2 + VAT per night, per apartment (as will all overnight stays in Liverpool), to be paid on arrival.

What this means for you: A £2.40 charge per room, per night will be added to your bill. The charge applies to all guests, regardless of booking channel (online, direct, travel agent, etc.). It will be collected at check-in. This is a mandatory city-wide fee, separate from your room rate or any other hotel charges.

Why the charge? The fee is part of a city initiative to support Liverpool’s visitor economy and improve tourism services and events. We appreciate your understanding and thank you for contributing to Liverpool’s continued growth as a worldclass destination. If you have any questions, please speak to our reception team.
